It’s is definitely a déjà vu knitting week. First up the featherweight cardigan that was at least half-way done last week is currently less than half way done. I tried it on and it looked like it would only fit a 5 year old even though my gauge was spot on….maybe I just like my cardigans a little baggier that I thought. I was so annoyed to have to start over with a bigger size that I didn’t even rip out the old one. I just grabbed the other end of the yarn and slowly un-knit the cardigan. At one point I had two tiny boleros. So this week the featherweight looks exactly the same as last week except slightly bigger.
My second round of déjà vu knitting is probably instantly recognizable to anyone who’s knit their own one – it’s a Hitofude cardigan which I knit last autumn. Back when I was knitting it I kept worrying that it looked a bit small but I figured it would grow when it was blocked so I kept at it. It did grow a little when blocked but after wearing it twice the yarn kinda sprang back and it’s too short again. This means that it has pride of place in my wardrobe and I try it on every so often, forgetting that I don’t like wearing it because of its length, only to toss it back in the wardrobe and mutter to myself that I need to rip it out and re knit it. So that’s exactly what I’m doing right now. I’ve started it all over again and it’s fun seeing the lace pattern come together. When I get tired of paying attention to the pattern I just switch back to the miles of stst that the featherweight it currently composed of…..best of both.
Linking up (a day late!) with KCCO and Yarn Along
Redoing a project you never wear is pretty darn smart. I have one in my closet that needs the same treatment, but the inspiration tondo so just hasn't struck me yet.

I have two sweaters I need to fix/redo to some extent, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Glad to see you're taking action to make Hitofude wearable! It's so disappointing to finish a project and then realize it's not working for you-hopefully both sweaters will turn out great this time around!

I need to rip out my keynote too, I'm afraid, I never wear it. I knit it last year in linen yarn and that was such a bad idea, its drape is totally off. Good luck reknitting your Hitofude!
