What a week! The grant I talked about is almost complete…..it’s at the point where I get a short reprieve for a day or two while it sits on my boss’s desk for review before I submit it. It managed to steal away almost all of my knitting time after work and during the weekend so you imagine how pleased I was to pick the needles back up yesterday evening and knit up a few more inches.
I’m on the fourth section and I’m really happy with how it’s shaping up. I haven’t fully decided what to put in the middle section yet….I’m changing the original pattern because I just don't feel like that section "pops" and I'm going to make it a more ornate cable. I might even add a few extra details too once I finish the current section and finalize a new pattern section for the middle. We'll see.
I also made the blanket a bit narrower than the pattern originally called for which means I will more than likely have a bunch of wool left over. I’m pretty confident that I’ll get this blanket finished well before Christmas, leaving me plenty of time to make a few little winter woolies – I’ve been looking a lot to mitten patterns on ravelry, and hats, even though I’m not normally a hat person. …..and there I go again planning the next project before the current one is even ¾ of the way done!!
