If you read blogs or look at pinterest, it’s impossible to ignore the fact that it’s Valentine’s day today. Chocolate covered this, heart shaped that, love quotes, love signs and a multitude of pink and red everywhere. As I’m sure you’ve gathered, I’m not very big on Valentine’s Day at all, but this isn’t a rant against the day – if you love it then that’s great if you hate it then that’s great too!
I just thought that today would be the perfect day to share my little heart-inspired offering with you. It’s a knitted baby blanket that I made over the last 2 weeks while waiting for the yarn for the cable knit blanket to arrive.
I got the idea and pattern for the large heart here and then using that pattern and a little bit of math I came up with the pattern for the whole blanket.
I have no idea who’s going to get my little Valentine’s Day baby blanket. I’m donating it to Project Linus, who will give it to a sick child in my local children’s hospital or to a child in a shelter. Hopefully it will bring them warmth and help them to feel loved.
And that’s my little attempt to spread the love this Valentine’s Day – happy love day everyone.
Edit Jan 2016 - I've been receiving a lot of emails about the pattern that I used but unfortunately its one that I just sort of concocted and didn't make very good notes on! I do plan on writing a pattern soon for one that will be very similar and when I do I share it - sorry
