Wholefoods had this delicious chocolate drizzled popcorn on sale a few weeks ago and I bought it as a treat after one of my long runs – because eating the calories you burn is without a down the best part of running. Anyway it was delicious but expensive (for what it was) and in bag that was too big for a serving size. I hate bags of snacks that are 3-4 servings per bag because then I always always end up over eating.
So I recreated the experience at home using bulk bought popcorn kernels that I popped on the stove – a little goes a long way. Then a grabbed a handful of chocolate chips and mixed a few into the bowl with the popcorn and melted the others in the microwave. A little spoon shaking later and I had my own bowl of much cheaper (and portion controlled) chocolate drizzled popcorn to snack on during one of my netflix binging sessions – it’s what snow days were made for!
