I’m so excited for this weekend. Finally a long weekend – do you know in Ireland we have so many long weekends that I almost began to take them for granted. For instance there is a long weekend in May, June, and August, not to mention almost a week off at Easter, but since I now live in the US, I haven’t had a long weekend since Martin Luther King Day back in January. I’ve been really missing by lazy summer long weekends.
I’ve been looking forward to this long weekend for about 2 weeks now, so much so that I was a space cadet in work for most of this week (note to self: up your game next week or you’ll never get that contract renewed). I have so many fun plans for this weekend; the main one involves minding my friends’ dog when she goes out of town. So I’ll have 2 fur-babies all weekend long which is more than likely sufficient time to convince me never to get a second dog right!
Having two dogs in the house is a recipe for mischief and mayhem so I’m going to try to spend as much time as possible visiting as many parks as I can with the pair in an effort to tire them out. Plus I’m itching to take photos that aren’t in the horrible lighting that my house is afflicted with.
Then I have a bunch of other projects will just be me having fun and will hopefully include:
- My first big sewing project (hint it will hopefully be wearable by the time I’m done), I have the fabric and a rough idea of what I’m doing now all I need is the time and courage to make the first cut
- I bought a giant 24x24 canvas on sale in Michaels and I’ve an abstract pattern floating about in my head, hopefully it will come out as pretty on the canvas as it is in my head. I’m hoping to hang the finished picture above my bed.
- Kathy’s beautiful photo books, coupled with a fantastic 25% deal from www.blurb.com have convinced me to stop procrastinating and to make the photo book of my dog Charlie I’ve been thinking about making for the last year.
- Shopping, I heard a rumour that Labor Day sales exist (please tell me I’m not mistaken) because my depleted wardrobe is crying out for some new clothes but my bank balance is also crying….
Those are the plans, ambitious but fun and honestly even if I managed to achieve nothing more than a Breaking Bad marathon on the couch with some puppy cuddles thrown in I’ll be delighted! What about you, any busy ambitious plans or just some fun relaxation on the cards for this weekend?
