Anyone else watching The Bachelorette this season? It’s my love-to-hate and hate-to love show. I’ve only seen about 3 episodes of this season but I feel like that’s enough. It’s the perfect excuse for a glass of wine on a Monday evening while we gather in a friend’s house to make up our own commentary to go with it.
Trashy tv always without fail leaves me wanting to eat, especially things like chips and popcorn and I’m always trying to come up with alternatives. Right now I can’t get enough of kale chips, these are delicious!
I’ve seen them being sold for $8 a bag in some stores which is robbery when you consider how ridiculously easy they are to make.
I simply chop/rip the kale from the stem in large pieces and place in a zip lock bag, add a teaspoon of sesame oil and rub to ensure the oil coats as much of the leaves as possible. Since the oil is the only part that counts towards Weight Watchers points I try to stretch that 1 point of oil out as far as possible – there aren’t that many 1 point snack options out there trust me!
I then spread the leaves on a baking tray, liberally shake coarse sea salt on top and roast in a pre-heated oven at 450°Fah for 10 mins (or until the leaves start to go brown and super crispy)
Then I happily munch away. There are only 2 problems with these kale chips; one that my best friend tries to steal them all when I make them and the other that the kitchen smells like kale chips for the rest of the day, but aside from making me want to eat more chips it doesn’t bother me too much
If you haven’t tried sesame roasted kale chips before – make them, you’ll thank me I promise!
