Life with a puppy is amazing! Boomer is growing up so fast. He's actually currently 18 weeks old but he's changed so much in such a short space of time that I want to remember exactly what having a puppy is like.
He started out in a full size crate made smaller to fit with a piece of cardboard off the box it came in - it wasn't long before he needed more space. The crate was one of the best investments ever, it made house-breaking so so much easier, I can't recommend it enough.
He's outgrowing things at an alarming rate - I might have to get a second puppy just to get full use out of it all! He has grown from needing an extra-small harness to a small size (in a slightly more masculine colour).
It's hard to imagine that he's going to be that big soon. This is my friends Cocker Spaniel, she was slightly less taken with him than he was with her, until we let them out in to the yard and then they chased each other for ages - very sweet.
Ted is his absolute favourite toy, he can barely carry him but he tries really hard. And I adore his fat little puppy belly in this photo, I guess it goes without saying that he's a grubber!
We celebrated Saint Patricks Day by dressing him up with a a little dickie bow (the hat was a present from some friends and of course he wouldn't dream of wearing it so I held it just above his head to get the photo) and we brought him out and about to meet new people and see new places while he was still small enough to be carried.
He's doing great, almost fully house-broken, sleeping through the night without crying to get out and not up to too much mischief yet!
Did I mention he was a cuddler? Gone now are the first few days when he'd fall aleep in your arms. He's far too independent for that even at 12 weeks - he will only sleep in his crate or at the end of the couch. But he's still super affectionate and loves nothing more than to curl up on our laps.
And of course he's not without the typical bad puppy moments!
